I havn’t been posting much here lately, I’m about half way through scanning the 40 rolls of medium format film I shot on my last cross country trip and should have some updates before too long. I’ve been putting some work into my website, re-sequencing and adding to existing portfolios, check it out if you have a few minutes, and feel free to follow along for more frequent posts on instagram, @marshallscheider

Anonymous: what kind of film do you shoot with? your tones are incredible.

Almost always Kodak Portra 160

Kodak Tri-x or TMAX100 in d76 1:1 for black and white

Portland Folks -
July 18th is the opening reception for a group show, Light Years, including selections of work by myself, Jake Arcularius, and John Voves at Nationale.
Read more about the show here and swing by the gallery on the 18th, or anytime before August 14th to check out the work if you get the chance.
Ain’t Bad Magazine did a little feature on my work this past week. Check it out if you have a moment.
After nine months in New York, my girlfriend and I are packing the car back up this coming week and embarking on another cross country trip. We’re going to spend a month on the road, camping our way through Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, all the way to New Orleans, before heading back to the west coast through the deserts of South Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Armed with five hundred dollars worth of medium and large format film, a handful of cassette tapes, and a miniature barbecue - ready for the next chapter.
